Weymouth Police Office Chesna, killed in the line of duty, funeral procession travels through Boston, MA. Officer Michael Chesna was hit with a rock and killed with his own revolver. The suspect is in custody.


We have been receiving reports of possible scam phone calls collecting money for the family of fallen Officer Michael Chesna.

An account has been set up at Equitable Bank to assist the family. Anyone wishing to make a donation to the Chesna family can make checks payable to the “OFFICER MICHAEL CHESNA FAMILY FUND” and mailed or dropped off at the Weymouth Police Station, 140 Winter Street, Weymouth 02188.

Massachusetts State Police Colonel Kerry A. Gilpin released the following statement regarding this morning’s homicides of Officer Chesna and a bystander in Weymouth

“On behalf of the Massachusetts State Police I offer our deepest condolences to the family of Officer Chesna, the family of the Weymouth woman who was also killed, and the Weymouth Police Department. The State Police Detective Unit for Norfolk County, the State Police Crime Scene Services Section, and the State Police Ballistics Section, and our State Police Crime Lab will work tirelessly alongside District Attorney Morrissey and the Weymouth Police Department to speak for these two victims by holding the defendant accountable for these horrific crimes.”
