NH STRONG news reports 7.21.2019 – Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash, Interstate 89 HB, New London, NH.

On Sunday, July, 21, 2019 at approximately 11:29 AM, the New Hampshire State Police Troop D was notified of a motor vehicle crash on Interstate 89 northbound just north of Exit 12 in the Town of New London, NH. The crash was reported to be a rollover with ejection. Troopers responded to the scene along with New London Police and Fire Departments. Upon arrival it was determined that three people had been ejected from a single vehicle. It was determined that two of the individuals were deceased on scene, and the third was transported to New London Hospital where they later died due to injuries.

Based upon the initial investigation, it appears that the vehicle involved in the crash was traveling northbound in the left lane of travel. Information was obtained that another vehicle may have merged into the left hand lane in front of the vehicle involved in the crash. The vehicle involved in the crash subsequently swerved and lost control. The vehicle departed the Interstate into the median of the highway where it rolled over and undetermined number of times. It was during this rollover portion of the crash that all the occupants were ejected.

Due to the severity of the crash, the New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit (C.A.R. Unit) was requested to respond to the scene. Upon arrival the C.A.R. Unit assumed responsibility for the investigation. The C.A.R. Unit was assisted on scene by the New Hampshire State Police Troop D, the New London Police Department, the New London Fire Department, and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation. During the investigation a portion of Interstate 89 was closed for approximately 4 hours. Traffic was diverted off Exit 12 and then back onto the Interstate.

At this time the personal information of those involved is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Further all parties involved in the crash remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. At this time it does not appear that impairment was a factor, however all aspects remain under investigation. UPDATE – At this time the New Hampshire State Police is able to provide information pertaining to those involved in this fatal motor vehicle crash. The occupants of the vehicle were identified as:

  1. Sharon Nowrocki, age 44, of West Roxbury, MA
  2. Angelo Rossi, age 57, of Roslindale, MA
  3. Kelly Rossi, age 56, of Roslindale, MA

Based upon early investigation, it is still trying to be confirmed as to who was operating the vehicle at the time of the crash. Further, it does not appear that any of the occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
