At Albertsons Companies, we know the important roles our store and pharmacy play in your life and we are grateful for the trust you put in us for your needs. As the situation around Coronavirus has developed, we have been and will continue to monitor all information locally, nationally and globally so we can plan how to best serve you. I wanted to take a moment to share some of the things our team is doing:

  • Running Clean Stores and Pharmacies. We have stepped up how often we clean and disinfect all departments, restrooms, and other high-touch points of the store, like checkstands and service counters. Cart wipes and hand sanitizer stations have been installed in key locations within the stores for your convenience, too. As always, we encourage customers to wash their fresh and packaged produce before consuming at home.
  • In-Stock Items. In many markets, we are asking customers to respect quantity limits of select, high-demand items (like hand sanitizers and household cleaners) to help ensure more of our neighbors can find the products they need. We’re refilling high-demand products as quickly as we can. 
  • Taking Care of Our Team. All of our associates are encouraged to follow the CDC’s recommendations to keep themselves and their loved ones healthy. We are encouraging our associates to stay home when they feel ill, and are working with our Human Resources team to ensure that every member of our team who faces a crisis can have peace of mind that we will help them get through it.  Please help us keep our store associates and community safe by considering use of our Grocery Delivery or Drive Up & Go services if you have a fever or flu symptoms such as cough or shortness of breath.  
  • Planning for Local Needs. Our team is also planning to make sure we can serve you if your community becomes impacted in a significant way. From a single case to local community outbreaks or situations, we have plans to keep our stores and pharmacies open and serving our communities.
  • Shopping for You. Our Grocery Delivery, Pharmacy Delivery, and Drive Up & Go services are still available to you. You can find more information at your store’s website (, for example; see below for our complete list). Our E-commerce team is following enhanced sanitization protocols for all of their equipment, and washing their hands and using hand sanitizer before every order. We’ve created “Contact Free” delivery procedures for our team and changed our signature processes so that our delivery drivers can sign for you when delivering your order, after completing an ID check, if necessary.  Please use our “Contact Free” procedures if you or a household member has a fever or flu symptoms.

Taking Care of You. Your health is important to us. Just as our team continues to follow the CDC’s guidance on staying healthy, we encourage you to do so, too. And don’t forget that our pharmacists are also available to help answer questions you might have
or to offer advice for keeping you and your families healthy year-round.

Our teams are working diligently to keep our shelves stocked and we are continuing to react to the Covid-19 situation. In the midst of increased demand and challenging supply, we are focused on the products you are likely to want most: water, pantry staples, pre-made meals, cleaning supplies, toilet paper and more. To support as many customers as possible, you may see quantity limits placed on select items. We appreciate your patience as some of these products may be temporarily unavailable in some of our stores.

We continue to closely monitor the ongoing developments of COVID-19 and its impact on our communities.  Your safety and well-being, and that of our Associates, is our highest priority.  We’ve added this page to our site to keep you advised of what we’re doing at ShopRite to ensure your safety and help you shop with confidence so that you can focus on taking care of yourself and your loved ones during this difficult time.  


When it comes to your safety, ShopRite has cultivated an environment of exceptional food safety standards that meet local and state requirements and industry best practices.  We remain vigilant about regular cleaning and sanitizing of food contact surfaces and we follow a routine of frequent, thorough cleaning of restrooms and public areas with a special focus on check out stations and conveyor belts, credit card keypads and other surfaces regularly handled by customers. Our Associates are trained to follow proper hand washing practices and we advise associates who feel ill to remain home.  With your safety in mind, we have suspended in-store events and product sampling programs.  We continue to monitor and follow the recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control, state and local health departments and our food industry trade associations.

Product Availability:

We remain committed to serve you, but current events have impacted our ability to keep in stock on key items and deliver our usual high level of service.   Like all retailers, we are in short supply of many items that are in high demand right now.  As a result, items such as disinfectant cleaners and wipes, bar and liquid soaps, water, cough/cold over the counter medicines and other key categories are now limited to a purchase of two.  We’re working with our suppliers to keep these items on the shelf for you and we appreciate your cooperation in limiting your purchases so that everyone can get the products they need.  Due to high demand, quantities of select products will be limited. Please click here for a list of items.  If you order more than the allocated quantity, your order will be modified. As you can imagine, the demand for online shopping services is at an all-time high.  Please bear with us — we are doing our best to fill your orders accurately and on time.  We’ve scaled up our servers in preparation, but the traffic continues to grow, so please be patient as the site may experience some delays. For your convenience, you can also place an online order using our ShopRite mobile app.

Drop at Your Door Delivery:

We have modified our delivery procedures. Your driver will call or text you when they are on their way to make your delivery. Your delivery will be left at your door unattended. Please read instructions in the checkout process and provided your mobile phone number in the Delivery Instructions field at checkout when placing delivery orders.

Temporary change in hours of operation:
We are changing our hours of operation to better serve our customers and communities. This additional time will be used to clean our stores and restock products. Our temporary store hours are:

  • All New York State stores (excluding Brooklyn) and Erie, Pennsylvania: 6 am – 12 am
  • New England, New Jersey, Virginia, Pennsylvania (Excluding Erie), North Carolina stores: 6 am – 11 pm
  • Maryland stores: 6 am – 10 pm
  • Brooklyn: 7 am – 11 pm

How is Wegmans addressing safety concerns regarding COVID-19?
As part of our everyday practices, we follow strict food safety and policies and procedures, above and beyond what is required of us to ensure a safe environment for all. We continue to reinforce employee education regarding viral prevention and encouraging them to stay home when they don’t feel well. Still, we are taking additional measures to help ensure the health and safety of our employees and customers. We:

  • Increased the frequency of cleaning and sanitation in our stores, distribution centers, and offices
  • Added additional hand sanitizer stations
  • Restricted the use of reusable cups to the self-serve coffee bar, only
  • Increased signage providing reusable bag cleaning instructions
  • Temporarily enhanced our short-term disability leave program to support our people impacted by COVID-19

How are you keeping up with supply and demand?
Because this is impacting the retail industry around the world, supply is limited and there are a number of pressures on the supply chain to keep up with demand. This, coupled with the high volume we’re seeing across all departments, is affecting what is available on our shelves. Know that we continue to receive shipments to our stores every day. Although we may not have every variety available, we are working hard to give our customers options in each category.

How has your e-commerce business been affected?
We’re seeing an increase in our e-commerce business and expect that demand will continue to grow. Due to high demand, grocery delivery and curbside pickup times are limited, and in many cases, orders are taking longer to be shopped. We continue to work with Instacart to meet the needs of our customers.

Will you continue operating your self-serve food bars?
We are limiting the options offered on our self-serve bars and have made additional packaged options available. The health and safety of our customers and employees is our top priority. As part of our everyday practices, we follow strict food safety policies and procedures designed to ensure a safe environment for all.

Are you limiting the purchase of any products?
To help ensure the availability of high-demand items for all customers, we are limiting the purchase of the products below. To see a full list of the limited purchase products, click here. We continue to receive shipments of these products and are sending them out to stores as soon as they arrive.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) testing in select retail locations

In partnership with Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Google and others, Target is working with the federal government to provide public access to additional coronavirus testing. We’re currently working with officials and task force partners to identify real estate that can serve as temporary testing locations, and will share more details as they are available.

At Target, we’re committed to helping the families and communities we serve in good times and bad. We’ve already taken a number of steps in support of our team and guests. We’re extending benefits to help team members take care of themselves and their families, conducting even more rigorous cleaning procedures in all of our facilities and providing additional support for Drive Up and Order Pickup services from our stores. What steps is Target taking to keep guests safe and healthy as they shop in the stores?
We’ve always taken pride in our clean and well-run stores, and we know this is more important than ever right now. Like many others, we’re taking guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which recommends regular cleaning as one of the most important preventive measures we can take. Health and safety is our first priority, and we’ve put a number of additional steps in place to protect them as they shop, including adding payroll hours to support more rigorous cleaning routines, including ensuring guest-facing surfaces like checklanes and touchscreens are cleaned at least every 30 minutes. We’ve also ceased food sampling in our stores out of an abundance of caution.

Will my Target store be open during normal business hours?
Our intention is to keep our 1,800+ stores across the country open, knowing our guests are relying on us for food, cleaning supplies, over-the-counter medicines, prescription pick-ups and more.

Will my Target store have the products I need in stock?
We’ve initiated purchase limits on key items like hand sanitizer, toilet paper and antibacterial wipes. We’re also replenishing the products our guests need as quickly as possible and staffing up in-demand fulfillment services, like Order Pickup and Drive Up, while pausing Restock and Express.

Our teams are working around the clock to make sure that the products you want are available when you need them. As demand for cleaning products, medicine, pantry stock-up items and more remains high, we’re sending more products to our stores as quickly as possible.

What are other fulfillment options available for guests?
Target offers a range of fulfillment services that don’t require guests to enter the store, including:

  • Drive Up – a team member delivers your purchase to your car in our parking lot.
  • Shipt – a shopper makes a same-day delivery to your doorstep.

Are you encouraging your team members to stay home if they’re sick?
Yes. As always, the health and safety of our team remains a top priority. We’re asking team members to stay home if they are sick and providing resources to make that possible.

Will Target offer paid sick leave to team members if they contract the coronavirus (COVID-19) or are placed under quarantine?
As always, Target is committed to taking good care of our team members and their families, and we’re extending new benefits to help them during this time including:

  • Quarantine pay—in the case of team members being placed under mandatory quarantine, we’ll provide them with 14 days of pay.
  • Confirmed illness pay—if team members contract COVID-19, we’ll provide 100% of their pay for up to 14 days.
  • We’ve also waived our absenteeism policy to support team members who may be unable to work because of school or daycare closures, or who stay home due to flu-like symptoms.

We’ll also continue to offer them our existing well-being benefits, including:

  • Virtual medical visits, which are free and can help determine when it makes sense to see a doctor.
  • Paid family leave and backup day care for eligible team members.
  • Our Team Member Giving Fund is available to support team members and their families if faced with unavoidable financial hardship.
  • Team Member LifeResources is available 24/7 to all team members, dependents and any member of the household to help with a variety of issues.

At Kroger, our customers are like family. And like you, during these last few weeks we’ve been focused on doing all the things we need to do to keep our families safe and healthy.

As America’s grocer, we’re here for our customers and communities when they need us most, with open stores and openhearted hospitality.

We believe that everyone deserves to have access to fresh, affordable food and essentials, especially in times of uncertainty. That’s why our teams are working so hard to keep our stores clean, open and stocked. That’s why we took the precautionary step on March 2 to limit the number of cold, flu and sanitary products per order…so everyone can have access to the items they need. And that’s why our supply chain teams are working to ensure that the food, medicine and cleaning supplies our customers need are reaching our stores as quickly as possible and are available through our pickup, delivery and ship services.

We activated our preparedness plan several weeks ago, and we continue to monitor the rapidly evolving situation. We’re following guidance from federal, state and local agencies, including the CDC and other health organizations.

Here are the steps we’re taking to protect our customers and associates:

In Our Stores

  • Cleaning commonly used areas more often, including cashier stations, self-checkouts, credit card terminals, conveyor belts and food service counters, and cleaning shelves when restocking products.
  • Sanitizing restrooms more frequently and restocking with supplies, including soap, paper towels and hand sanitizer.
  • Adding extra hand sanitizer at cashier stations, food service counters, and all Pharmacy, The Little Clinic and Starbucks locations.
  • Wiping down shopping carts, baskets and equipment.
  • Partnering with our suppliers to replenish high-demand preparedness products.
  • Continuing to provide our customers with free disinfectant wipes at our store entrances to sanitize their shopping carts or baskets.
  • Following best practices for safe food handling, as always.

For Our Associates

  • Encouraging our associates to closely monitor their health and well-being.
  • Providing hand sanitizer and tissues in breakrooms and meeting rooms.
  • Asking our associates to stay home if they, or someone in their household, are sick.
  • Providing financial support from our Helping Hands fund – a company-sponsored employee assistance fund – to associates who may be directly affected.
  • Suspending business air travel for associates through March 31, 2020 and recommending virtual meetings.

For Our Customers

  • Encouraging our customers to follow the CDC’s suggested hygiene practices to reduce the spread of the virus.
  • Recommending that our customers also practice safe food handling at home.

Sanitation. Our routine cleaning and sanitation standards already meet CDC guidelines. Additionally, we’ve put in place a heightened disinfection response program. We’ve also suspended food demonstrations in our stores until further notice.
